BELLO HORIZONTE APARTMENTS

This Non-Profit Housing development features a 138-unit apart-ment complex , a series of 3-storey townhouses wrapped around a cen-trally landscaped courtyard, and a children's outdoor play area.   The use of brick, gabled rooves and multi-paned windows make historical reference to traditional architectural features.

In a second phase, the Ministry of Health approved a project to convert 4 2-bedroom apartments into 8 1-bedroom fully accessible dwellings.  Retrofit included specially designed kitchen and bathrooms and roll-in showers.  The program provided retrofit projects at 3 other locations in the Greater Toronto Area.
