Renovation & Restoration
252-264 ADELAIDE STREET EAST Toronto, Ontario
The building which stands at the corner of Adelaide and Duke streets in Toronto, is the old head office of the Bank of Upper Canada, constructed in 1827. As all the interior systems required replacement, the buildings were completely renovated and restored to accommodate contemporary tenants, while maintaining respect for the original character and historic significance of the building. The project won both the Credit Foncier Award (1981) and Heritage Canada National Award of Honor (1982) for most outstanding restoration. |
